Ian Holbeche has taken over the reins as managing director of Warwick Machine Tools (WMT), following Gerard Berger's retirement after 35 years in the machine tool industry.

Prior to joining WMT Mr Holbeche held senior sales management positions with Microlease, a leading technology provider in capital equipment. His experience also includes a number of years based in the USA, and his expertise in managing global strategies and creating business partnerships will be instrumental in strengthening the foundations for Warwick Machine Tools. "Warwick Machine Tools has an enviable reputation in the UK as the sole distributor for ONA. I aim to build on this reputation and plan to take the company to the next level, both in terms of sales and the support we provide customers," said Mr Holbeche. The company says it has seen sales of new machine sales, as well as pre-owned equipment, rise this year and that it is to "launch a number of exciting new initiatives to support the continued growth of ONA EDM machines", while a future focus will be "delivering a lower cost of ownership model". The company has also embarked on a facilities refurbishment programme that will see a range of machines installed in the new technology showroom. An additional field service engineer has already been appointed. Image: Ian Holbeche, left; Gerard Berger, right
