Hexagon Metrology and GF AgieCharmilles in partnership

Under the terms of the commercial arrangement, GF AgieCharmilles will now specify Hexagon Metrology co-ordinate measuring machines for all its 3D pre-setting and measurement applications. GF AgieCharmilles is a producer of EDM machines and machining centres (Mikron brand). The agreement paves the way for the installation of Hexagon Metrology CMMs at the largest GF AgieCharmilles application centres in Geneva, Shanghai, Singapore and Chicago. GF AgieCharmilles will also showcase Hexagon Metrology technology at all the trade fairs at which it exhibits. “We are intensifying our cooperation with GF AgieCharmilles through this agreement," said Andrew Barclay, managing director of Hexagon Metrology SA. "The high accuracy of our measuring machines is compatible with the high precision of GF AgieCharmilles die-sinking EDMs. Therefore, our products are the perfect complement to the production cells. We now offer customers of GF AgieCharmilles support on an international basis for presetting and measuring.” Jens Thing, head of global marketing of GF AgieCharmilles, added: “We are certain that, with our mutually complementary technologies, we can better concentrate on the customers' requirements for high precision.” With an interface for PC-DMIS, the measurement software from Hexagon Metrology, GF AgieCharmilles' manufacturing cells can now incorporate the entire spectrum of Hexagon Metrology CMMs.
