Delcam recruits graduates and undergraduates as growth continues

UK-headquartered CADCAM developer Delcam is adding a total of 30 graduates and undergraduates to the staff at its Birmingham location, a record number of recruits for the company's annual summer intake.

The extra staff are being added across the company in software development, engineering support and marketing. The recruits include new graduates in permanent positions and students on fixed-term placements wanting to gain employment experience during their courses. This latest round of new staff marks the fourth consecutive year that Delcam has added more than 20 recruits at its Birmingham headquarters. "Once again, we have offered some of this year's new permanent positions to students that have previously completed placements at Delcam," said software development manager Richard Barrett. "The placement system works well for both the company and the students. It gives us a comprehensive opportunity to assess their potential as full-time employees, while the work experience helps the students' credibility when they apply for jobs at end of their courses. Our scheme has become more established in recent years, helping us to attract more applications for the positions. "Applications for our 2014 intake will open on the 1 September, with full details listed on our website (www.delcam.com/graduates) from that date," he added. "We will again be looking for first class applicants for all our departments, with assessment days planned in Birmingham during the autumn." The increasing scale of the company's recruitment parallels the rapid growth in its global sales, both in its established manufacturing area and in the newer healthcare markets. Earlier this month, Delcam was rated by CIMdata as the world's leading specialist supplier of CAM software for the 13th consecutive year, while, earlier this year, the company announced that it had achieved record half-year sales in the second half of 2012, the sixth consecutive six-month period in which it has set new record levels of sales.
