Brown & Holmes (Tamworth) has had its best year for sales to date in 2010 despite the uncertain economic climate.

Kevin Ward, joint director of Brown & Holmes, said: "Like many companies, 2009 was a tough year for us, but we held onto our employees and we all worked as hard as we could to turn it around. As a result, 2010 has ended as our best trading year ever on record." In fact, the demand for the company's bespoke manufacturing services has proved so popular that the in-house design team has recently been expanded to include two new trainee design engineers. Brown & Holmes operates as a subcontractor for three machine tool builders in the UK, as well as supplying directly to a large number of local, national and international customers. It offers a complete service encompassing design, manufacture and assembly, through to testing and inspection, tooling support and installation. From its Tamworth base, Brown & Holmes provides customers with a complete turnkey solution from project management, design and manufacture through to support and installation. Brown & Holmes was established in 1939 and its solutions now cover a wide range of industries including aerospace, automotive, defense, pump and valve and the oil sector. Brown and Holmes is ISO9001:2008 accredited and also the sole UK agent for FORKARDT workholding range of standard and special rotary power chucks, expanding mandrels and steady rest packages.
