Brown & Holmes (Tamworth) has become a partner in the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), Coventry, which has been set up to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions.

The MTC brings together the country's leading academics, engineers and industry professionals to develop advanced manufacturing technologies. In particular, the MTC specialises in the development of high value manufacturing sector processes: net shape manufacturing; intelligent automation; advanced tooling and fixturing; electronics manufacturing; computerised engineering and high integrity fabrication. "We believe that the future of UK manufacturing lies in our ability to develop innovative solutions," says Kevin Ward, joint director of Brown & Holmes: "We are proud to be able to support the UK's largest manufacturing research and development centre, which is based right here in the Midlands." Brown & Holmes offers a complete precision workholding and machining service: encompassing design and manufacture, assembly, testing and inspection, tooling support and installation. The company is also the sole UK agent for the Forkardt workholding range of standard and special rotary power chucks, expanding mandrels and steady rest packages.
