600 Group sees significant growth in Europe

600 Group reports that its Germany-based company, Parat Werkzeugmaschinen GMBH, has achieved a 40 per cent increase in turnover during the last 12 months as compared with the previous year.

The significant progress, which has come about since the appointment of Willi Gollmer as head of the Group’s European operations, is due to an increased market penetration, an enhanced product range, an augmented distribution network, the appointment of more specialised distributors, and, according to 600 Group chief Eexecutive Andrew Dick (pictured), “a more energetic, focused management, able to concentrate on developing the three complementary strands within our business strategy. “When we first developed our new strategy, we identified Europe as one of the principle territories in which we wished to expand our activities. The results of the last 12 months are even better than we had hoped, and I believe demonstrate that we are taking the right steps to enable us to operate as a leading supplier in that market”. Most significant factor in Parat’s growth is the new management style, which has prompted significant changes throughout the whole company. And in addition to delivering application-specific solutions to customers alongside the medium-range production machines such as the Group’s own Colchester-Harrison Tornado and Alpha lathes, the addition of the value-for money Dalian range has further enhanced market penetration. Existing distributors have been given fresh impetus and additional support where necessary to encourage their enhanced performance, while new distributors have been appointed, giving a greater territorial coverage and also more depth of technical expertise and specialisation, and more direct salesmen and application engineers have been appointed. This additional manpower has delivered an increased number of sales but more importantly an increased market share.
