MASS makes Zeiss CMMs all-rounders

MASS is a completely new multi-sensor platform for the PRISMO and ACCURA co-ordinate measuring machines. It enables various contact and optical sensors to be used for automatic measuring runs without the need for expensive upgrades. This expands the range of measurable applications and ensures that these measuring machines will also fulfill future requirements. It allows users to change between optical and contact procedures during a measuring run. Additionally, the new features will even allow users to exchange the entire probing system on these machines. Switching between a central probe and a flexible articulating system with all contact and optical scanning methods. The PRISMO and ACCURA measuring machines with MASS technology are equipped with a range of sensors. For example, operators can exchange the VAST Gold central touch probe for an RDS articulating system and thus use all available sensors. Depending on the application, operators can now decide if they want to perform optical or contact measurements. MASS focuses on the application during sensor selection. A co-ordinate measuring machine with MASS can be used for a variety of tasks and can also be adapted to new measuring tasks through additional suitable sensors. MASS makes a measuring machine an all-rounder.
