Grob Access Series offers competitive 5-axis machining

Grob’s new Access Series of 5-axis machining centres promises the best machining quality for individual and series production while offering a cost-effective entry into Grob technology.

The Access Series machines comprises the G350a (600, 770, 805 mm; X, Y, Z) and G550a (800, 950, 1,020 mm; X, Y, Z). Both models include a rigid horizontal spindle axis optimally positioned close to the operating point, with guaranteed high accuracy and precision. This combination, with the unique upside-down machining, allows an excellent chip fall and reduces the heat load in the component. The models offer the longest Z-axis stroke and largest swivel range on the market for rotary axes, it is claimed.

The linear guidance system of the reference axis can be optionally equipped with a temperature-controlled cooling function. The Access Series is offered with Siemens and Heidenhain control systems.

Typical applications for the Access Series include 3+2-axis machining and volume cutting (structural components) in the aerospace, automotive, pump and valve, mechanical engineering, and job shop industries.
