Cost-effective DP500 DRO range from Newall

Newall has introduced its DP500 mill and lathe DRO packages. Designed specifically to target the turret mill and toolroom lathe market, the packages are priced to meet the needs of cost-conscious users.

The DP500 DRO comes with features that include absolute and incremental readings, radius/diameter readings, error compensation and inch/metric instant conversion. The unit also includes a tool offset library that compensates for different tool lengths in turning operations – the offsets can be programed manually or entered during machining. For milling applications, the DP500 includes bolt hole circle routines. Operators simply enter the data via message prompts and the DP500 calculates the coordinates of each hole.

The DP500 DRO package is available in 2- or 3-axis versions for turret mills with travels up to 406 by 914 mm, and for 2-axis lathes with up to 2 m between centres.
