Tornos machine name change part of global rebranding

Currently segmented by product type – Deco A and S for single spindle turning centres and the MultiDeco B, C, D and I for multi-spindle turning machines – the company is now to link the name of its new products with the degree of complexity – Alpha range for complex to very complex parts; Sigma range for parts of medium complexity; Delta for very simple parts. Models launched since 2005 are subject to change – Deco 8sp becomes Deco Sigma 8; Deco 20S becomes Deco Sigma 20; MultiDECO 32/6d becomes MultiAlpha 6x32. "We want to reinforce our image as an innovator in the market – and thereby strengthen the position of Tornos. The inevitable consequence of this decision is that the Tornos logo and brand name will be upgraded. We want to be more consistent throughout the world," said global marketing manager Pierre-Yves Kohler.
