Yaskawa MotoSight 3D CortexVision for robots

MotoSight 3D CortexVision from Yaskawa is said to be an easy-to-integrate solution that simplifies the use of 3D vision in robotic guidance applications.

According to the company, its point-and-click software environment and self-learning technology is able to reduce set-up time.

The system is aimed at applications where precise part location is required in machine loading, assembly, racking, dispensing and product sorting. Due to advanced algorithms and the recognition of trained patterns, no camera calibration or programming is required for the system, which is said to be capable of recognising a large number of objects. The IP67-rated camera uses GigE technology to identify an object and its position in six degrees of freedom, without the use of structured lighting.
