Widia VSM17 from Vargus adds versatility to shoulder milling

The VSM17 platform from Widia is said to provide true 90° walls and high quality step-less finishes. Available in the UK from Vargus Tooling, Widia says that the Victory Shoulder Mill (VSM) 17 platform delivers an effective one-two punch of reduced horsepower at the machine, as well as higher speed and feed rates (which mean more parts per shift).

VSM17 cutter bodies have an integral chip gash design for chip evacuation, along with hardened steel construction and hardened pocket seats that provide high resistance to deformation.

VSM17 offers ramping capability up to 8.8° and a maximum 16.45 mm depth of cut. The range is available in shell mills, screw-on cutters, cylindrical shank and Weldon shank end-mills, with internal air and coolant capability.

VSM17 starter kits are available now featuring a cutter body and 10 inserts.
