Weldability-SIF Sifbronze brand SIFMIG SG2 copper coated double deoxidised 0.8, 1.0 and 1.2 mm diameter MIG welding wires are now available in 250 kg drums for semi-automated and fully-automated robotic MIG welding applications.
SIFMIG SG2 is a CE certified DIN EN 13479:03.2005 standard MIG welding wire that has a high quality copper finish for very smooth feeding. It is designed for fabricators welding unalloyed and low-alloyed mild and medium tensile steels used in general fabrication, construction steelwork, tank and boiler fabrication, repair and automotive body applications. It also meets Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) classification B-G 49A 3 C G6 (ER49S-6) of CSA standard W48-06 (filler metals and allied materials for metal arc welding).
Used with CO2 and ArCO2 shielding gases, SIFMIG SG2 wire includes silicon and manganese to produce welds with good mechanical properties including an impact toughness down to -20°C. Typical mechanical properties of the wire include a 1,450°C melting point, 4,000 N/mm2 Ult tensile strength and a hardness of 120.
Welding wire supplied in drums help fabricators to reduce wire change-over frequencies so increasing production volumes through reduced downtimes. Supplied palletised, SIFMIG SG2 bulk drums are easy to connect to MIG equipment and are designed to reduce feeding problems by employing an optional compatible feed cone and liner. SIFMIG SG2 is also available on 0.7, 5 and 15 kg wire spools depending on the diameter of wire required.
SIFMIG SG2 joins other types of Sifbronze wires that can be supplied in 250 kg drums including SIFMIG Zero SG3 double de-oxidised mild steel MIG wire without a copper coating and SIFMIG SG3 a higher tensile strength copper coated double deoxidised MIG wire.
