Walter grooving toolholder improved

Walter's new and improved G1011 toolholder for the GX24 grooving insert offers better chip flow, easy and quick insert clamp and release, as well as the elimination of insert 'tear out'.

By modifying screw clamp operation, the toolholder can now be released and clamped from above or below – making it easier to replace inserts in-situ – and by re-positioning the insert screw, which now has a large head, higher clamping forces can be applied. Available for insert widths from 3 to 6 mm at depths of 12 mm and 21 mm, the G1011 grooving and parting off toolholder has shank sizes of 20 mm and 25 mm square sections, and is therefore suitable for most lathes where parting off operations up to 42 mm diameter are required. The tool can be applied to all types of steel and cast iron, including difficult-to-machine types. Inserts are available in three Tiger.tec variants; WSP43 and WSM33 PVD AL2O3, and WPP23 CVD.
