Walter GB extends Prototyp Paradur X.pert tap family
Prototyp Paradur X.pert taps available from Walter GB now include the X.pert K and N models for machining cast irons and non-ferrous metals, respectively. The additions to the range mean that it now covers IOS P, M, K and N material groups. Both blind and through-hole threads can be produced using the taps.
The HSS-E-PM straight-fluted Paradur X.pert K is described as offering high levels of toughness and wear resistance. A temperature-resistant TAFT coating also supports long tool life even when cutting highly abrasive materials.
The Paradur X.pert N tap is available with helical flute, spiral point tap or with reduced flutes – for superior chip formation and evacuation – and is specifically targeted at machining AlSi alloys with up to 7 per cent Si content or pure copper.
