Walter Ewag introduces Helitronic Vision 400 tool grinder
Walter Ewag UK is offering the Helitronic Vision 400 for the cost-effective production of round tools of 3 to 315 mm diameter and with circumferential machining lengths up to 350 mm. The tool grinder caters for a wide range of HSS, ceramic, cermet and CBN cutters, hobs, drills, step drills, profile tools and woodworking tools.
Based on the rigid polymer/mineral cast base and the patented Helitronic Vision portal design, the Vision 400 also features ballscrew drives for the linear axes and worm drives in the rotation axes.
Motor output is 24 kW/10,500 rpm and an optional wheel changer is capable of changing up to 24 sets of grinding wheels of up to 254 mm diameter. An optional 6-axis Fanuc robot can be specified for automatic toolchanging.
The Fanuc control system includes Walter's Helitronic Tool Studio software which can minimise grinding cycles courtesy of the optional Feedrate Optimiser 'plug-in' functionality.
