Vero’s Alphacam 2015 R1 CAM offers 5-axis module

Enhanced functionality in Alphacam 2015 R1 from Vero Software includes a 5-axis machining module, offering tool axis control and collision avoidance. Toolpaths can also be analysed against the machine tool’s constraints, using Alphacam’s 5-axis independent toolpath optimiser.

From an ease of use perspective, the 2015 R1 release features a newly developed ribbon bar interface that is said to help users quickly find the commands required, as they are arranged in logical groups and assembled together under tabs. Alphacam's quick access toolbar can be displayed above or below the ribbon bar and includes the most commonly used commands, such as 'open' and 'save'. Users can customise the ribbon bar by adding their own favourites.

Also introduced in 2015 R1 is aggregate toolholders. Users can now define toolholders with geometry extrusions and rotations, STL and solid CAD models. Furthermore, a library of toolholders can now be created.
