Vericut V8 from CGTech heralds improved workflows

According to CGTech, the latest release (8) of the company’s Vericut software, ties complex processes together with the ability to monitor and evaluate potential problems in an efficient and consolidated way, thereby reducing the time spent in the programming and machining cycle.

Enhancements include:

  • A ribbon bar that optimises workflow and helps users find the functionality required with minimal mouse clicks
  • The ability for CADCAM programmers and engineers to optimise ‘Air Cuts Only’, focusing on milling cutter motions away from the raw material
  • The capability for Vericut V8 to read STEP files without any extra licensing
  • A preferences dialogue that allows users to set up many default settings which help to streamline the creation of cutting tool assemblies
  • The Vericut logger, which now displays messages and reports from many sources in a tabbed logger window
  • A ‘Toolpath Trace’ feature that creates a wireframe of the motion path which can then be measured
