Turning line tackles aerospace alloys

The T-Turn Plus turning line offers high quality surface finishes when machining exotic alloys.

The new turning line sees a new insert design that reduces cutting friction and minimises built-up edges when machining titanium, Inconel and alloy steels. Inserts feature a new coating process that improves chipping resistance and reduces insert breakage to deliver stable and extended tool life in continuous and interrupted cutting operations. Available in a wide selection of grades, the T-Turn plus eliminates crater and flank wear when undertaking interrupted cutting and difficult-to-machine applications, with its outstanding fracture resistance. Tested in the TaeguTec test centre, the T-Turn Plus is proven to improve tool life and productivity by over 30 %. Cutting at a comfortable 240 m/min with a feed of 0.3 mm/rev at 2 mm depth of cut, the T-Turn Plus extends tool life by over 25 % when conducting interrupted machining.
