Tornos offers high speed spindles up to 80,000 rpm

Tornos is introducing high speed spindles to its turning centres; 10,000 to 80,000 rpm. They will accomodate tool diameters from 0.015 to 8 mm diameter Various spinle suppliers are proposing different lines of spindles depending upon the work required such as drilling or milling with micro-tools. This principle can be applied to all Tornos machines and is currently compatible with the Deco, Sigma, MultiDeco and MultiAlpha series machines. The compact dimensions of the high frequency spindles allow them to be installed on different tool systems in bar-turning operations or in counter operations. Speed can be controlled via the TB/Deco machine control, and they operate a synchronous drive system via independent power supply. The high frequency spindles are not part of the standard Tornos options but are available upon request and may be proposed in order to optimise machining procedures.
