Tornos Deco 10 lathe replacement offers options

The EvoDECO 10 turning machine from Tornos provides flexible manufacturing of bar components up to 10 mm diameter and boasts four independent tooling systems, 10 numerical axes and two C-axes. It offers 27 tools (up to 21 rotating) and the option to work with or without a guide bush. These features are backed by a wide selection of peripheral devices to optimise material removal rates and production flexibility.

The EvoDECO 10 is available in two models, the EvoDECO 10/10 or the EvoDECO 10/8. The EvoDECO 10/10 is a 10-axis machine with four independent tool systems, whilst the EvoDECO 10/8 is a more cost-effective solution with eight linear axes and three independent tool systems. Both machines offer a length capacity of 100 mm with a 10 mm bar diameter. The main spindle generates a power output of 6.5/10.1 kW with high torque throughout the 0 to 14,000 rpm speed range. Whilst the sub-spindle matches the speed range of the main spindle, its 5 kW motor generates sufficient power for back-end working operations.

Tornos has replaced the standard bearing in the driven tool units with a needle roller bearing. This development has a superior radial rigidity that is said to make carrying out demanding milling and drilling operations possible.
