Taylor Hobson launches LuphoScan metrology system for lens moulds

Using Taylor Hobson’s LuphoScan interferometric scanning metrology system, the company says that a full 180° scan of lens mould surfaces can be made, together with a scan of the rim and the mountings.

LuphoScan provides full, non-contact 3D characterisation of lens moulds with the ultimate objective of improving the optical surface and its position relative to the mould rim and mountings. Using the system, it is possible to determine the tilt, decentre and absolute position of the optical surface. It is based on MWLI (multi-wavelength interferometry) technology to help perform fast and precise 3D form measurement.
