SmartDriveComau 800L is equipped with linear motors, which the company says guarantees more competitive cycle times, thanks to their high processing speed. According to Comau, linear drives also maintain their accuracy for up to five times longer than alternative solutions based on ballscrews.
Thanks to its circular interpolation capability, the machining of bores with a standard high speed cutter, using the same tool for manufacturing bores of different dimensions, save time and costs.
A “get help” icon allows the operator to interact with the machine, interpreting and anticipating its requests much more easily. This results in reduced time required for diagnostics and, consequently, higher machine availability.
The machine is also available in an MQL version, while the vacuum and air filtration system helps higher levels of internal cleanness to be achieved. Furthermore, compared with the previous generation machine, energy savings of around 15% can be expected, says Comau.
