Siemens' RobotExpert software, described as an intuitive, easy-to-deploy robotic simulation and programming solution, is aimed at helping small and medium size businesses minimise downtime and increase throughput of shopfloor robots.
Seimens' RobotExpert supports applications, such as pick-and-place, arc welding, polishing and glueing, and joins the company's Tecnomatix digital manufacturing, automation and simulation portfolio.
The 'out-of-the-box' usable solution features an intuitive 3D environment, which, says Siemens, combines the simplicity to optimise robotic paths and improve cycle times with the power to simulate virtual mock-ups of complete manufacturing cells and systems. RobotExpert can be used to generate the most suitable combination of equipment to meet specific manufacturing needs, supporting faster product introduction as well as early evaluation of manufacturing times, costs and project investments.
Instead of traditional manual robot programming methods, the majority of the programming work using RobotExpert can be done virtually while optimising the program to reduce the cycle time and increase throughput. Simulation capabilities also help to reduce hazards to shopfloor personnel and equipment, Siemens points out.
