Schunk introduces the OPR-063-M fast operating collision protection device for small robot systems

Clamping and gripping systems specialist Schunk has introduced the OPR-063-M collision and overload protection device that has a response time of 1 ms.

Designed primarily for applications on small robots, the OPR-063-M has a hard-anodised aluminium alloy housing and weighs only 290 g. Rather than using internal proximity switches, monitoring is conducted by an exchangeable magnetic switch from the outside. This means that following a collision the unit can be returned to its original position without being disassembled. The triggering force and moment can be adjusted via the operating pressure. A standardised adapter plate enables the unit to be easily integrated into the system.
