Schuler MSC-2000 press features ServoDirect technology

Schuler Beutler's MSC-2000 automatic blanking press is said to be the world's first line with two electrically coupled and freely programmable pressure points.

In combination with the company's ServoDirect technology, Schuler says that benefits include 50% less energy consumption, longer die life and greater precision. By linking the pressure points in the press uprights, the machine's rigidity has been increased. Furthermore, the play-free and lubrication-free drivetrain consists of a servo motor, brake module and eccentric shaft with conrods, knuckle-joint and slide. In fact, the MSC-2000 automatic blanking press uses two such drivetrains facing each other – synchronised via the drive control – which deliver a press force of 2,000 kN. The drivetrain's reduced mass moment of inertia increases the dynamic response of the slide movement, Schuler says.
