Sandvik Coromant's innovative new range of CoroCut QS toolholders improve stability and part quality when performing parting and grooving operations on sliding-head automatic lathes.
Already well established for conventional turning operations on sliding head machines, the CoroCut QS system now supports parting and grooving.
CoroCut QS is a proven high productivity alternative to conventional toolholders for sliding-head machines, offering rapid tool change times.
In comparison with the 12 steps required when changing conventional one-piece toolholders, the QS system offers a two-step set-up procedure to reduce downtime.
The single screw release design of CoroCut QS reduces tool change times by around 66%, while the patented spring-loaded wedges ensure quick and safe extraction, and reduce the risk of dropping the holder.
The new CoroCut QS holders for parting and grooving are available with tip-seats to suit D, E, F and G size inserts. In total, there are 24 holders in the range.
