Sandvik Coromant milling grade GC1040 is aimed at providing a cost-effective and high quality cutting insert solution to the extremely tough machining of austenitic stainless and duplex materials and is available to suit a broad range of CoroMill cutters.
Machine shop customers now have a grade that can be relied upon to perform securely with consistently sharp cutting edges, low forces and slow wear.
GC1040 is now Sandvik Coromant's first choice recommendation for shoulder milling for small diameters in fine to medium roughing.
The cutting tool and tooling systems specialist says the new grade is extremely secure in unstable conditions and safe for unmanned production, time after time.
