Reiden RX14-A from 2D CNC offers 5-axis milling with turning

The bed and column of the Reiden RX14-A, a 5-axis universal machining centre available from 2D CNC Machinery, are inherently rigid, having been developed around Hydropol, a concrete and steel composite material that increases stability and allows the completion of milling and turning processes in a single cycle.

According to Reiden, such is the level of stability resulting from the machine construction that it is able to absorb vibration under heavy cutting conditions through its optional spindle specifications that provide up to 187 kW of power, 557 Nm of torque and 20,000 rpm speed. Incorporated in the machine configuration is a swivelling vertical/horizontal milling head designated 'Trigonal' and developed by Reiden to provide a pivoting A-axis between -15° to +105°. The slim design of head employs pneumatic clamping to hold position when being used for turning operations in conjunction with the rotary table.
