Production planning simplified with Schröder Unfold software

The Schröder Group has introduced its Unfold software for programming ‘unfold’ routines and bending sequences. Available from UK dealer DJ Webster, the software is optimally adapted to Schröder’s range of industrial folding machines, namely the MAK 4 Evolution UD, SPB Evolution UD, PowerBend Industrial UD and PowerBend Professional.

After importing CAD construction data as a STEP file, the Unfold assistant launches, allowing users to select material type and thickness, machine type, and available tools. The file can then be exported in DXF or XML format. Thanks to 3D graphics, the Unfold assistant is easy to use; no previous knowledge or experience in CAD applications is necessary, says the company.

Schröder Unfold has a bending radius management system, offers interactive measurement of components and automatically supports swaging and welded-on parts. The software, which is used on standard Windows PCs, not only calculates the optimum bending program but also the necessary cycle time.
