Precision machining of aerospace parts, patterns and moulds

Poseidon machining centres are ideal for the production of patterns and prototypes, trimming of large aluminium or composite components in the aerospace, automotive and marine industries, and machining of tooling board and sand moulds in foundries. The multi-axis range is based on a build platform that provides machines as large as 8 by 40 m, placing it at the top end of the equipment offered by the CMS Group. Even the smallest model, at a mere 2.6 by 3 m, is a substantial piece of production machinery. There is a choice of 1.2, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 or 4 m Z-axis travels, plus a variety of spindle sizes and rotary axis assemblies. All models in the range, whatever their size, offer axis speeds of up to 85 m/min. Modular construction means that customers needs can be precisely matched. This flexibility may avoid having to buy more machines than are really necessary to accommodate one particular requirement, be it the weight, length, width or height of a workpiece or any other deciding factor.
