Novel tool change system boosts productivity of Magerle MFP 100
The Schliefring group's compact 5-axis 50 kW spindle power grinding/machining centre features a toolchanger with a special dual double gripper. As the system always replaces two old tools with two new ones, the tool change is particularly fast.
In the standard version, the Magerle MFP 100's changer can take up to 30 different tools; for example, 15 grinding wheels and 15 diamond dressing discs for continuous dressing during the grinding process. Maximum grinding wheel diameter is 300 mm and maximum dressing roll diameter is 160 mm. Other tools, like drill, cutter, CBN wheel or measuring probe, can also be fitted. The changer can be optionally extended to take 60 tools in total.
The compact design machine requires only 4.6 by 4.0 m deep floor space but is capable of machining workpiece diameters up to 615 by 547 mm. The grinding centre is equipped with a 2-axis NC table as standard with a 3-axis available as an option.
