NCCS has released NCL V9.9 of its multi-axis machining software which, it says, offers further time savings in the generation of complex toolpaths. It now has the ability to swap views between visible and invisible entities and to open many different file types from a single File Open menu and supports 64 colours, allowing users to select their own custom colour range.
FMILL will now generate 'racetrack' style (unidirectional) motion around a closed surface or set of surfaces (NET) and an SMILL command facilitates the machining of multiple surfaces including support for ball and bullnose endmills.
NCL/IPV additions and enhancements include:
• The ability to Undo and Redu cuts. This allows the user to undo/redo the simulated motion
• Print IPV commands that allows NCL to 'talk' to NCL/IPV in the part program without using the interface menu
• The ability to modify the Rapid motion when simulating with a non-sim file
• Improved geometry Modals, Geometry Attributes and Part comparison forms to allow the user to choose a matrix from a drop-down menu instead of manually entering the matrix label.
Enhancements to PostWorks are cited as:
• Advanced A/C style rotary axis 'look ahead'
• Auto retract and unwind without Lintol
• Other CAM system interfaces (CATIA, NX, Mastercam
• More accurate estimation of machine times
• The Auto doc postprocessor uses a combination of features from NCL, PostWorks and NCL/IPV to collection information for the creation of documentation.
