More clamping force with Kennametal’s HydroForce HT

Designed as a high torque chuck for all rotating applications, Kennametal has released its HydroForce HT universal hydraulic chuck. With a more compact and stable design, and 40% thicker front wall cross-section, the clamping force of HydroForce HT is up to three times higher than regular hydraulic chucks, says Kennametal. Furthermore, with improved vibration dampening, run-out is 3 micron at 2xD overhang, while balance quality of G2.5 is achieved at speeds of up to 25,000 rpm.

According to Kennametal, only two sizes of HydroForce HT are required to suit all rotating tooling tasks: direct clamping is available for 20 and 32 mm diameters, with reducer sleeves applied for all other diameters.

Kennametal says that HydroForce HT is more cost effective than thermo shrink-fitting, offers up to four times more clamping force than collet chucks, and delivers higher balancing quality performance than power milling chucks.
