Missler schedules launch of TopSolid’Split 7.7 for TopSolid’Design

TopSolid'Split, an extension to Missler Software's TopSolid'Design to be launched next month, will allow tool makers, especially those specialising in plastic injection to increase their productivity by providing an easy way to define and design core cavity blocks from an imported 3D plastic part, or one directly designed in TopSolid'Design.

Once the model has been in TopSolid'Design, TopSolid'Split enables the user to prepare the part to be injected by analysing the draft angles of the model (detecting vertical faces and undercut faces) and by globally or differentially controlling the shrinkage factor of the material used. TopSolid'Split automatically determines the best parting lines, while leaving the user free to redefine them locally – when passing over a face, for example. The module also provides intelligent wizards to automatically generate shut off surfaces and external parting surfaces. In addition to efficient creation of moulding blocks, TopSolid'Split 7.7 is able to define all inserts needed to take the production constraints into account at the core and cavity block split stage. Missler Software recently introduced TopSolid'Cam 7, a combined version of TopSolid'Cam V6 and GOelan V5 which offers both the advantages of an integrated product while maintaining all of the benefits of separately using GOelan and TopSolid'Cam v6.
