The Unibase-M automatic tool storage and dispensing system from Mapal is said to make it easy for customers to organise and manage their tooling stocks so that production is never interrupted due to the unavailability of tools. The system also guards against costly over-ordering of tools and ensures that tools are stored in a secure environment that protects them against damage.
The Unibase-M storage system features a modular design with computer control that not only monitors tool stock levels but also, when users need a particular tool, guides them to the correct drawer location. Taking the wrong tool is virtually impossible, says Mapal, as the drawers are normally locked and the computer releases only the drawer that contains the requested tool.
