LS Starrett launches Advanz MC5 and MC7 bandsaw blades

The latest products added to LS Starrett's Advanz bandsaw blade range, the MC5 and MC7, feature carbide tipped teeth designed to make multiple chip cuts.

The Advanz MC5 is said to offer precise cutting and an excellent surface finish. The ground teeth with positive rake angle have exclusive geometry that produces five chips during the sawing operation. It is suitable for non-ferrous metals and castings. For higher productivity and longer life when cutting hard materials, the positive rake teeth on the MC7 blade feature progressively ground trapezoidal cutting faces that produce seven chips. This results in faster cutting speed. The MC7 is designed for difficult-to-cut steels, including steel >45 HRc, stainless steel, titanium and Inconel. "Our test results have been substantiated by the performance figures we are seeing at several customer installations running the new bandsaw blades under production conditions," says John Cove, marketing manager.
