Low contour Sick deTec4 Core safety light curtain unit presents minimal workspace obstruction

Sick's latest deTec4 Core safety light curtain is aimed at single-sided access protection in machine shops, automotive production, FMCG goods handling and packaging, warehousing and logistics applications. The company says its robust, space-saving design allows safety distances to be minimised to achieve best-possible machine integration and operator productivity.
The Sick deTec4 Core offers protective field heights in increments from 300 to 2,100 mm and a choice of finger (14 mm) or hand (30 mm) resolution providing protection against operator intervention in accordance with EN ISO 13855 up to 10 m. In addition, it complies with performance level 'e' (EN ISO 13849), Type 4 (IEC61496) and SIL 3 (IEC61508).
As the device's sensor works only in protective mode, configuration and range adjustment is automatic requiring no additional set-up. Diagnostic codes are simple while additional functions can be initiated via safety relays, or the Sick Flexi Classic or Flexi Soft safety controllers. The design of the mounting bracket, the device's rounded contours and the alignment LEDs make the system quick and easy to install.
The safety light curtain unit has an IP67 enclosure and an operating temperature range from -300 to +550ºC.
