Lantek 2016 brings users closer to Industry 4.0

Lantek 2016 is said to take sheet metal companies closer to Industry 4.0 for advanced and agile manufacturing by helping them improve efficiency, communication, co-operation and integration.

Among feature enhancements, automatic geometry recognition for multiple parts and dynamic lead-in/out positioning are included to help users reduce programing times, while the newly developed ‘Bevel 3D Designer’ allows interactive, irregular bevel design in 2.5D. Part cost calculation has also been enhanced in relation to head up/down times and sheet load/unload times.

Further additions include improved strategies designed to optimise heat in the metal sheet during cutting, cut micro-joints at the end of machining, optimise hole destruction and, for punching, specific strategies for special tools such as deburring. Furthermore, a newly added piercing strategy for thick materials, EcoPierce, is said to save both energy and time.

Lantek has also introduced a newly developed CAD toolbox for tube design.
