Kyocera milling programme updated - suit super-alloy, aluminium and cast iron

Kyocera is introducing a number of milling tools to suit super-alloy, aluminium and cast iron materials.

The 4JER solid carbide end-mill for super-alloy machining features the company’s Megacoat Hard coating technology for extended tool life. In addition, the tool offers variable helix design and improved chatter resistance thanks to its four-flute design.

Kyocera has also updated its face-milling cutter MFWN, a 90° low cutting force unit offering reduced chattering when performing aluminium machining. The line-up expansion employs the newly developed PDL025, a fine-grain cemented carbide tool grade with DLC coating that is said to ensure stability and long tool life.

Again for aluminium milling is the MFAH, which offers newly developed insert geometry with two cutting edges, along with an adjustable insert seat pocket.

A further development is the CA3 series of milling inserts, which features a newly developed CVD-coated carbide grade and chipbreakers for cast iron machining.
