Komet unveils hi.aeQ arbor face-milling cutter

The Komet hi.aeQ arbor face-milling cutter is aimed at the step and face milling of cast iron workpieces. Featuring a high number of teeth and low cutting forces, the hi.aeQ houses Q80 tangential indexable inserts designed for counterboring and milling operations.

Thanks to a standing/lying arrangement, each insert has eight usable cutting edges. Both PVD and CVD-coated indexable inserts are available.

Other features of the Komet hi.aeQ include low power consumption, thanks to low cutting forces, and a low vibration, quiet milling characteristic that reduces spindle loads. If internal coolant supply is used, optimum cooling of all cutting edges is achieved using the coolant sleeve, says Komet.
