Keyence launches CV-X image processing system

Keyence has introduced its CV-X image processing system with inline 3D inspection. The system works with the Keyence LJ-V laser profile scanner, which provides stable detection of workpieces with speeds of 64,000 profiles per second. The profile data can then be processed using the CV-X image processing system. Applications include height, width, position, cross-sectional area, volume, flatness and warpage measurement.

According to the company, even wide surfaces can be scanned with a single pass, upon which internal profile measurements and surface adjustments can be made. Keyence says that it is difficult to generate a correct reference surface for a product with a curved surface using lines only. However, using the LJ-V and CV-X, adjustment can be performed with a reference plane set to a wide surface, so the effect of profiles can be minimised.
