Kerf Developments Maxi 5000GP measures up to large fast oxy-fuel and plasma profiling applications

Kerf Developments' Maxi 5000GP is a high speed profile cutting machine for large oxy-fuel and plasma applications available inbespoke bed sizes.

Kerf Developments has designed the Maxi 5000GP with a smooth running, low resonance and precision machine frame that can accommodate a wide range of cutting heads. Its fabricated steel crossbeam is stress relieved and precision machined to create a strong, heavy duty structure suited to high speed plasma and gas cutting applications. The crossbeam runs on high precision linear rails and bearing assemblies the full length of the machine. Accuracy is further supported by the installation of twin synchronised AC servo motors and planetary gearboxes. Cutting widths of 3.5, 4, 4.5 and 5 m can be accommodated and bed lengths can be customised to each individual application and suit single sheet or pendulum loading to maximise productivity. The Maxi's bed length can be extended at any stage as the support table is completely isolated from the side rail assemblies. This also ensures that drive elements and accuracy are not compromised by shock loading, power surges or intense local heat generated during cutting. The Maxi is equipped with the Burny 10 LCD Plus control system that is available on all Kerf Developments' cutting machines. This industrial grade PC-based shape cutting motion control unit is designed for workshop environments where temperature and humidity extremes, as well as airborne particulates, vibration and constant machine movement, are commonplace. The user-friendly Burny 10 LCD Plus control system allows multiple control and program tasks to be completed simultaneously. Operators use can use the Window-based operating system and real time motion control to edit a library of 50 shapes to create new shapes. The Burny 10 LCD Plus control system on the Maxi also features a 15-inch colour touch screen interface and additional help screens. Nesting software assigns tailored lead-ins, lead-outs and cutting technology for each individual component to ensure part quality. The Maxi can be interfaced with any of the Kaliburn plasma cutting systems offered with the Kerf machine range. Entry-level air plasma systems through to Ultrasharp high definition plasma cutting units are available.
