Kennametal offers KSSM8+ as low-cost face milling platform for cast iron
The Kennametal eight-sided KSSM8+ face milling platform aims to deliver maximum metal cutting performance in cast irons and steel workpieces at lowest cost per cutting edge.
IC10 and IC12.7 sizes respectively provide 9 and 6 mm depth of cut and 88º and 87º lead angles for applications where fixture limitations or part designs call for close to 90º shoulders.
The double-sided eight cutting edge design insert features –LD geometry, positive rake face and honed edges for low cutting forces and good floor finishes in medium and finish machining.
The KSSM8+ platform is available for face milling steels, stainless steels, and wet or dry machining of ductile cast irons, together with the choice of medium and fine-density cutter bodies.
