Jet Elite lathes now available from Axminster

The Jet Elite range of lathes offered by Axminster Tools & Machinery comprise the Jet Elite E-1236VS and E-1440VS, which have many features in common. These include: certified Meehanite castings; ISO 492 Class 4 spindle bearings that maintain spindle run-out to 0.011 mm; hardened and ground headstock gears; a two-speed gearbox with inverter drive; and LED spindle speed readout.

The E-1440VS lathe is the larger model and delivers speeds on ‘low’ of 30-365 rpm and on ‘high’ of 165-2,200 rpm. The smaller E-1236VS offers speeds on ‘low’ of 40-365 rpm, and 165-2,000 rpm on ‘high’.

Each machine has a 150 mm three-jaw chuck mounted in the D14 spindle. The spindle itself has a 5MT taper and 38 mm bore, while other standard features include a 2-axis DRO, faceplate, steady and follow rests, along with a coolant system and a quick change toolpost featuring four holders.
