ITC pitches Hanita 4940 milling cutters at rough tough jobs

ITC is offering the Hanita 4940 series of milling cutters for the rough machining of high tensile strength steels, titanium and similarly difficult to machine materials.

The multi-flute square end solid carbide Hanita 4940 milling cutters are TiAlN coated to improve tool life and a consistently high level of reliability when machining materials in the 45HRc hardness range. They are available in a wide variety of diameters including 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20 and 25 mm. Each cutter in the series has a shank diameter and length of cut identical to the cutting diameter for extreme robust and rigidity. This enhances cutting performance, tool life and surface finishes, says ITC To further improve metal removal rates, the Hanita 4940 series has a ribbed surface with a flat shallow pitch, a feature that improves cutting performance along the whole cutting length and also improves swarf evacuation. The optimal tool geometry and rigid cutter design is further enhanced by a corner radius on the range. The 6, 8 and 10 mm cutters have a 0.75 mm radius while the 12 and 16 mm diameters and the 20 and 25 mm cutters have, respectively, a radius of 1 and 1.25 mm. This feature improves reliability and performance when conducting heavy cutting operations.
