Hexagon rolls out PC-DMIS 2014.1
Hexagon Metrology has launched PC-DMIS 2014.1, a significant update of the measurement software for collecting, evaluating, managing and presenting manufacturing data.
Laser scanning and optical measurement systems benefit most from this mid-term release, with new functionality to manipulate and manage point cloud data. For instance, laser scanner users will find a new 'Mesh' command, allowing them to create a single mesh from any number of point clouds, while 'Alignment' and 'Filtering' tools are designed to enhance usability. In addition, a 'Blade' toolkit module for point clouds is intended to improve blade inspection efficiency.
PC-DMIS 2014.1 also introduces 'QuickFeature' selection for simple, one-click feature creation from point cloud data without the need for a dialogue box. Furthermore, a newly developed colour scale allows users to configure colour map properties for both surface and point colour maps for finer customisation, and the ability to save custom layouts.
