Hexagon Optiv Performance 663 and 664 Dual Z multi-sensor CMMs

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence has unveiled its latest multi-sensor CMMs, the newly-developed Optiv Performance 663 and 664 Dual Z. The line enables a variety of sensor configurations for tactile and contactless measuring/scanning tasks in a single system.

Based on the same technology as the Optiv Performance 443, the latest CMMs feature low-vibration granite construction, mechanical linear guides on all axes, backlash-free drives and integrated temperature compensation. The Optiv Performance 663 offers a measurement range of 610 by 610 by 305 mm, while the Optiv Performance 664 takes the Z-direction range up to 405 mm.

The CMMs can be equipped with Hexagon’s Optiv Dual Z option, giving them two independent vertical axes for the optical and tactile sensors. This prevents the inactive sensor from impeding machine movement, so features deep within the workpiece remain accessible for easier part programming, while the risk of collisions is minimised.
