Hexagon introduces entry-level Optiv Classic measuring systems

Hexagon Metrology is introducing three entry-level Optiv Classic models, the Optiv Classic 322, 432 and 443, offering measurement ranges of 300 by 200 by 200 mm, 400 by 300 by 200 mm and 400 by 400 by 300 mm respectively. They are suitable for measuring flat parts such as punched components, circuit boards, foils or stencils, die cast and injection moulds and other precision parts.

The compact Hexagon Optiv Classic units include Vision-Sensors, comprising a CCD camera with a CNC motor zoom. These can be optionally complemented by Tesastar touch trigger probes to provide full multi-sensor functionality. The optics are used to make non-contact measurements of minute characteristics with very small tolerances, while with the touch trigger system further measurements can be performed in the same program sequence without reclamping. Hexagon Metrology supplies all Optiv models with PC-DMIS Vision metrology software which is designed for optical and multi-sensor measuring machines. This enables feature-based measurements, functions for fast editing of measuring programs and a comprehensive image processing functionality.
