Heidenhain (GB) offers incremental encoder for arduous applications

The ROD 1930 series incremental encoder is built for heavy duty automation and materials handling applications with a 120 mm housing, rugged bearings and extra environmental protection, says supplier Heidenhain (GB). It is capable of handling shaft loads of 200 N radial and 150 N axial at up to 4,000 rpm for 20,000 hours.

The ROD 1930's aluminium housing is rated to IP66 (sealed against dust and water jets) as well as having resistance to vibration (25-200 Hz) and shock (6 ms). The terminal box is remountable in 90º increments and there are HTL/HTL outputs for PLC applications. Special rotor couplings are also available.
